WarnerMedia, of which Warner Bros. TV and film studios is a subsidiary, has hinted towards the fact that it wants to forget all the controversies in the aftermath of their investigations on the production operations of the 2017 film “Justice League” concluded recently. The company has alluded to the fact that it now wants to move on. However, as far as the actor Ray Fisher is concerned, things are far from being over.
Fisher’s claims were the first voice that called for an investigation in the first place.
Ray Fisher has recently called out two Wrap reports that said Fisher does not want to work in a DC film, and henceforth he has stepped down from the role of Cyborg. It also needs to be added that io9 has recently published a report in which they have confirmed that the character, Cyborg has itself been removed from the upcoming movie The Flash, and there are no ongoing talks of recast.
Ray Fisher called out all of these claims and pointed out that he just has a problem with Walter Hamada (President of DC films) and not the entire studio.
Meanwhile, Walter Hamada has successfully extended his contract at DC Films to 2023.
He made a series of tweets, and among many statements, he also claimed that the scriptwriter and producer of the 2017 film Geoff Johns would be the next one after director Joss Whedon to be banned by Warner Media after the investigations found them to be guilty of misconduct on the sets of Justice League.
The parent company had recently revealed that they had concluded their probe on the misconduct allegations against Joss Whedon and company, and they have punished the guilty parties with “remedial action.” However, the statement did not reveal what has been found, who it has been found against, and exactly what action has been taken.
Fisher was very firm in his stance on Twitter and said that the articles written by Wrap are actually incorrect and claimed that there are people at DC films that are trying to avoid the backlash and the whole controversy.
He added that he has not publicly resigned from any role, and should WarnerMedia decide to obliterate the character itself from the DCEU, he cannot do much about it.
He also accused the reporter of having a lack of integrity and said that another article was written on September the 4th with an intention to malign Fisher and to divert the public eye.
He promised that irrespective of whether he is in the movie The Flash or not, his fight for justice would continue as he and his team are in constant touch with WarnerMedia to monitor the developments. By his tweets, it was clear that Ray Fisher is clear and unwavering in his stance and has taken it upon himself to stop the cycle of abuse that stems from having bad people in power.
He revealed to the fans that it is this fight for justice that has refrained Walter Hamada from dictating terms. Variety has independently confirmed that a representative of Warner Media has revealed that the studio has all plans of moving on after the investigations are over.
The representative has confirmed that the investigations were done by an outside law firm under the supervision of a former federal judge. The representative added that the studio has a firm belief in the authenticity and meticulousness of the investigations.
On the other hand, Ray Fisher had, time and time again, expressed his disappointments with the investigations. Fisher has drawn support from various cast members.
Meanwhile, DC Studio, Warner Bros., HBO Max are preparing for the widely anticipated release of “Snyder Cut,” which is expected to arrive in March of this year.
