Karen Gillan might reprise her character “Nebula” in the fourth Thor film “Thor: Love and Thunder.”
Gillan, who plays the role of Nebula (Gamora’s sister) in the Guardian of the Galaxy franchise and the lead female character Ruby Roundhouse in the Jumanji franchise, has already arrived in Australia. While her participation isn’t confirmed yet, her arrival in Australia does allude to her involvement in the Natalie Portman and Chris Hemsworth starrer.
Karen Gillan, the star of the James Gunn on-screen adaptation of Marvel space gang of superheroes “Guardians of the Galaxy,” might be on her way to join an already splendid ensemble cast of Thor 4. The actress has recently shared some pictures from Australia, and since the production of Thor 4, i.e., Thor: Love and Thunder, is set to happen there, many fans have begun to speculate whether she will have some minutes in the film.
Of course, Thor already has a lot of friends in the film, and Gillan’s arrival can be just a big coincidence, but speculations are inevitable up until Marvel Studios accepts or denies her presence in the film.
In spite of all of this, it is imperative to understand that Gillan’s arrival should not be as much of a surprise since almost the entire team of Guardians of the Galaxy is expected to be in the film. The likes of Chris Pratt, who plays the role of the leader of the group named Star-Lord, and has already confirmed that he will soon fly to Australia to bring Star-Lord back on the big screen, Pom Klementieff (Mantis) and Vin Diesel (Groot) have been widely rumored to be involved in Thor 4.
There was a phrase in Avengers: Endgame-“Asgardians of the Galaxy.” It was not there in the film for nothing.
The last time Karen Gillan was seen in a Marvel film was in the year 2018 when she appeared as Nebula in Avengers: Endgame, and it is now almost confirmed that she is a positive character and has joined the Guardians team leaving all of her nefarious activities behind.
Some reports did emerge last year that alluded to the fact that the movie consisting of a stellar cast will give an Avengers-like feeling to the audience. The reports have been backed up by several sources who agree that the iconic cast of Thor: Love and Thunder would create an Avengers like atmosphere in the theaters.
Furthermore, Tessa Thompson has also added much weight to this claim, and whilst confirming that her character Valkyrie is a part of the upcoming film, she also hinted towards the fact that characters from the wider Marvel Cinematic Universe could also show up in the movie.
She also added that the next time people would see Valkyrie, they would see her as the leader of the New Asgard.
One of the biggest additions of the film is Natalie Portman, who will return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Jane Foster for the first time since her stint in the 2012 film Thor: The Dark World.
Apart from her, Christian Bale will play the role of the villain, and some reports did emerge in December that he has already flown to Australia to attend some pre-production training.
Whether Karen Gillan joins the cast or not, we can rest assured that Thor: Love and Thunder will be an awesome film.
