Samsung Galaxy Pro And Pro 360: Comparison & Review

Samsung officially launched the Galaxy Book Pro and Galaxy Book Pro 360 at the third Samsung Unpacked event in 2021. These are premium and two-in-one Laptops.

According to Samsung’s marketing team, these are not laptops; these are Galaxy books. There is a big difference. It reminds me of apple commercials for the iPad. It looks like a laptop to me, but the idea behind this is making it portable and always connected with the latest wi-fi six and the LTE support. They work seamlessly with other Samsung devices.

Galaxy Book Pro vs. Pro 360

There are two new laptops from Samsung.

  • Galaxy book pro

  • Galaxy book pro 360

Galaxy Pro comes in a clamshell design. It is just 11.2 mm thick and weighs around 868 grams. The 13.3-inch Galaxy Book Pro is the lightest and thinnest Galaxy Book ever.

Galaxy book pro 360 has a two-in-one, and it is the only laptop with a touchscreen and support for the S-Pen. But in my opinion among the these three, Pro is best for everyone. It comes with a 15-inch version. There will also be a 13-inch version, and it’s a little similar to the MacBook Air/pro.

Samsung Galaxy Book Pro 360 is a bit more Pro than the regular Book Pro in a couple of ways. Both have the same processor option, a CORE i5, and a CORE i7. Both 13-inch and 15-inch Pro 360 model comes with up to 16GB of RAM. The 13-inch Pro 360 comes with up to 512GB of storage, and the 15-inch Pro 360 goes all the way up to 1TB of storage.

The 13-inch variant also supports 5G.

Design

The first thing you will notice is just how light and thin this is. The body is made up of aluminum-magnesium, and even in the 15.6-inch version, the thickness is about 11.7 mm. It weighs just 1.05 kg or 2.3 pounds. It comes with a 68Whr Battery.

All models are 6000 series aluminum and come in different color options like:

  • MysticNavy

  • Mystic Silver

  • Mystic Bronze

This color varies on model and region.

When you pick up these Galaxy books, they genuinely feel so lite; you might think they have forgotten to put a battery on them. You will get a full-size USB3.2, HDMI Port, Micro SD port.

So you can say this is a new laptop with a fancy new design, but there is a lot more stuff packed in it.

AMOLED Screen

It contains much wider viewing angles which make the screen pop. We also get display HDR 500. You will get at least 500 units of brands from this. You can switch between SRGB Adobe RGB and P3 modes, which is helpful if you are working on color-sensitive photo editing or video commercials.

Each variant brings a gorgeous Full HD AMOLED panel with support for p3 color. The display supports a 1 million to 1 contrast ratio, which is uncommon with present models of laptops. It emits less blue light.

Specs (Intel 11th Gen)

Inside these Galaxy Book, we have the latest Intel 11th gen processors, either i5 or i7. You can go up to 8 GB of ram on 13-inch and up to 16 GB on the 15-inch variant. Samsung Book Pro and Pro 360 both go up to 512 GB of storage. The storage of both laptops is SSD.

It comes with iOS xe integrated graphics card. I think it is a pretty standard affair for a 2021 light and thin laptop. We can expect at least nine hours of battery and solid performance.

It comes with a 65-watt charger that uses USBC with Type C. Full charge for Galaxy Book Pro takes up to 2 hours, so it’s not especially quick.

Ports available on these laptops:

  • One Thunderbolt 4.

  • One USB type C.

  • One USB 3.2.

  • One Audio Jack.

  • One Micro SD slot.

  • Fingerprint sensor.

You will see an additional HDMI port on the 15-inch variant.

We have S pen support with Galaxy Pro 360. Samsung also built some extra features like intelligent noise-canceling for video conferencing and a privacy key to ensuring that the mic and camera are off.

Comfy Keyboard & Touchpad

Samsung is calling it a comfortable first keyboard. You will get a much comfortable touchpad. It contains a little bit wider key spaces. Samsung has made a scissor mechanism which makes the look quite lovely and very responsive. You will get a Fingerprint reader into the Power button. The 15.6 version also gets the full number pad, but you will not see it in the 13-inch version.

Galaxy Ecosystem

Samsung is trying to mix all Galaxy functions into one place to switch between Galaxy family easily. Samsung galaxy books work with the rest of the Galaxy family. You can use the tabS7 or S7 plus as a secondary screen with these Galaxy Books. The idea behind this is if you start something on your phone, you can have it on your laptop.

You can also pair the galaxy buds with Galaxy Book, Pro, or Pro 360. There is a quick share feature so you can send files and photos to and from your Samsung phone or Galaxy device instantly.

You can track any of your Samsung devices using these Galaxy Book Pro and Pro 360. This feature is known as find dashboard. Galaxy ecosystem is more valuable to current Galaxy owners.

Prices

Galaxy pro starts with $449 for 13 inches and $549 for the 15.6 version.

Galaxy Pro 360 starts at $649 for 13.3 inches and $749 for the 15.6 version.

These are the basic version of the Galaxy Pro and Pro 360. If you want an i7 processor or more RAM, you will have to pay a little bit more.

Galaxy Book Pro vs. Macbook?

The price section puts the Samsung Galaxy book PRO right between the Macbook Air and the Macbook Pro. Galaxy Book Pro is a good alternative, or these Galaxy Books are a proper MacBook killer.

With the comparison of specification and Price, the Galaxy Book Pro is thinner and lighter. We are getting an AMOLED screen with these Galaxy Book Pro. Other specifications are LTE, Thunderbolt 4, Wi-Fi 6e.

So, until we see a brand new MacBook Pro 14 with a mini LED screen, Galaxy Book Pro is a better laptop.

Conclusion

All three laptops will launch on May 14, and first impressions are positive. If you preorder between April 28 and May 13, you will get free Galaxy Buds or $150 Samsung credit add-ons. You can preorder these Galaxy Book Pro and Pro 360 from the Samsung Official Website.
