He starred as the nemesis of Tom Hardy’s Eddie Brock in the 2018 film “Venom,” and has talked about his possible return in the sequel “Venom: Let There Be Carnage,” which is also going to star Woody Harrelson as the primary antagonist “Carnage.”
Riz Ahmed, famous for his portrayal of the antagonist character in the 2018 film Venom, has talked about his return in the sequel “Venom: Let There Be Carnage,” which is going to star Tom Hardy and Woody Harrelson in the leading roles.
In the 2018 film, Riz Ahmed played the character Carlton Drake, aka Riot.
Now, if you haven’t watched the film, kindly look away because there are some spoilers ahead.
At the ending of the 2018 film, the genius inventor named Carlton Drake, aka, Riot had to face his end because of a spaceship explosion.
And that is precisely the reason why his return in the sequel film “Venom: Let There Be Carnage” is a very improbable scenario.
Riz Ahmed has recently given an interview to The Hollywood Reporter and has said that he reckons that his time in Venom has come to an end. He further added that the climax of the 2018 film said it all, his character Carlton Drake, aka, Riot was blown to pieces in the spaceship explosion.
Riz Ahmed also played a pivotal role of Bodhi Rook in the fan-favorite flick Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Interestingly enough, Bodhi Rook had also died in the film.
However, the film is indeed getting a prequel series treatment titled “Andor” on Disney+.
He was also asked in the interview about his possible return to his Star Wars character in the prequel series or any other series. Riz Ahmed replied in negation and said that as far as he is concerned, he hasn’t heard from the creators yet.
However, it cannot be assumed that he has no work to do now. He has a handful of projects, which would keep him busy. He has recently signed a deal with Amazon Studios under the banner of his production company “Left Handed Films” for TV production.
In the meantime, it has been revealed that the upcoming Venom sequel titled “Venom: Let There Be Carnage” starring Tom Hardy, and Woody Harrelson has been signed a new release date, which is June the 25th, 2021. The film was pushed to 2021 because it simply could not be released in October 2020.
Just for the sake of knowledge, there has been an alteration to the theatrical release of a spinoff project titled “Morbius” featuring Jared Leto in the leading role. The movie will now arrive on October the 8th, 2021, after having been delayed for the third time.
Tom Hardy might also be seen in the sixth and final season of the Pea
ky Blinders, which has already commenced its productions. It will be the final season in the Tommy Shelby saga, and after the conclusion of the season, Cillian Murphy will finally bid adieu to the iconic character.
Tom Hardy will also be seen in Mad Max: The Wasteland and Morbius. He is also one of the leading figures to take on the baton left by Daniel Craig to become the next James Bond.
