An academy award-nominated actor, Matt Damon, has been confirmed for the upcoming Thor sequel, which already has employed the likes of Natalie Portman, Christian Bale, Tessa Thompson, Chris Pratt, and of course, Chris Hemsworth.
The actor with a pedigree of famous films like “The Martian,” “Interstellar,” and “Jason Bourne” under his belt has already arrived in Australia and is currently in isolation. It has been revealed that the production of the film is set to commence in Australia soon.
The likes of Christian Bale and Chris Hemsworth were already giving the star power the film needed, but now it seems as if Matt Damon will be adding some appetizers to the cocktail. The star of the Jason Bourne films has already arrived in Australia, and he would have to undergo the mandatory quarantine process before the production of the film can commence.
Alongside Damon, several stars of the film, such as Tessa Thompson, Chris Pratt, and Dave Bautista, are all under isolation in Australia, while Natalie Portman has been in the country since September of last year.
Hemsworth did not need to quarantine as he is a resident of Australia. He has his house in Bryan Bay, which is a beach town situated in North Sydney.
Upon arriving, Damon made a statement to the local media and said that he is pretty enthralled by the fact that he, along with his family, are going to live in Australia for the next few months. He added that he has prior knowledge of the professionalism that Australian crews have inculcated in them. He expressed his faith in the hospitality of Australian staff and said that the next 14 days of quarantine would be worth it.
Matt Damon did have a tiny role in the third film of the franchise titled “Thor: Ragnarok.” In the film, he played the role of a stage actor who performed the role of the God of Mischief “Loki” in a stage play set up by Loki to imitate Asgard.
The fourth film, “Thor: Love and Thunder,” will also be directed by Taika Waititi, who also directed the third film of the franchise. The production of the fourth film will commence in Australia in a few days’ time. Why has the location of Australia been chosen? Well, to know that, you need to read a detailed report of a subsidy being issued to the production team that roughly amounts to AU$24 million, and that, in turn, amounts to $18 million.
Thor: Love and Thunder will be the first Thor film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe Phase 4 plans. Currently, it has a scheduled release date of May 6th, 2022.
It is imperative to know that Thor: Love and Thunder will follow several tentpoles, which includes Black Widow (scheduled to be released on May the 7th, 2021), Shang Chi film (scheduled in July of next year), Eternals (which will be released on November the 5th, 2021), Tom Holland’s third Spider-Man film (likely to arrive on December the 17th, 2021), and the highly anticipated second Doctor Strange film-“Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” (March the 25th, 2022).
