Lisa Kudrow Has Hinted Towards a “Friends” Reunion

The star of the mega-hit 90s show-“Friends,” Lisa Kudrow, has alluded to the fact that the reunion special set to arrive on HBO Max is indeed happening.

Before the web streaming service HBO Max (a subsidiary of the more famous parent company) was launched, the fans of the iconic show “Friends” were upbeat about the fact that a reunion special featuring all of the old cast members is in the makings. “Friends” was an ABC sitcom and arguably the best sitcom of the last generation. The show used to star Jennifer Aniston as Rachel, David Schwimmer as Ross, Matthew Perry as Chandler, Courteney Cox as Monica, Matt LeBlanc as Joey, and Lisa Kudrow as Phoebe Buffay.

The production of the reunion had to be stopped due to the pandemic, but one of the famous actresses of the show has offered a very crucial update. The actress has revealed that she has already filmed something for the sequel.

She did appear recently in Literally! Podcast featuring Rob Lowe. She added that the pre-production of the show is currently goingon, and the production operations could start in the spring of this year (a statement that is in agreement with the one made by Matthew Parry a few days back).

She revealed to Rob Lowe in the interview that since she has already shot something for the reunion, then it means that it is definitely happening. She further added that the reunion is all about getting all six of them together, which is very rare and has never happened on screen wise since the year 2004, when the show ended.

Lisa Kudrow added that the entire cast would definitely visit the “Central Perk” (the famous coffee house of the iconic show) and other sets as well. It has been revealed that the “Friends” reunion special will not be an actual reunion episode where everyone will get to play their original parts. It will be identical to the one “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” where all the actors and the actresses talked about some legendary scenes, the characters, and the good moments.

According to a report published by “Deadline,” the unscripted upcoming show, which will be produced by HBO Max, will feature all the six actors, including Kudrow herself, Jennifer Aniston, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry, Courteney Cox, and David Schwimmer. The reunion will mark the return of the cast to Stage 24 (which is a Warner Bros. owned studio in California).

The responsibility of direction has been vested upon Ben Winston. Matthew Perry and company are going to serve as the executive producers of the show, and they will be accompanied by Kevin Bright, Marta Kauffman, and David Crane.

HBO Max has confirmed the reunion via a statement made by Kevin Reilly, who has jokingly named the episode “The one where they all got back together.”

Reilly hopes that the reunion of the show will reunite all the old fans and make some new ones.

It has been revealed that the original plan of HBO was to release the reunion special alongside the release of HBO Max in May of last year, but as you know, due to pandemic, it could not happen.
