Get Emails to your New Gmail Account from a Previous One

Creating a new Gmail account doesn’t mean sacrificing old messages from the previous account. You can use both your accounts when you need to check and send emails. But managing two Gmail accounts can’t be an easy chore for many. In that case, transferring emails from an old Gmail account to the new one is the best way to go.

Getting emails to the new Gmail account from the older account isn’t a difficult task. It can be done through simple procedures. All you have to do is to use the right steps. Moreover, we will help you in switching to a new Gmail account throughout the process. Let’s see the procedure in detail.

  • Within the POP Download option, you have to select EnablePOP for all mail.

  • Now you are required to go through the other part of the same section that says, “When messages are accessed with POP.”

  • From the drop-down option, decide what you have to do with emails in the previous Gmail when a new account detects them. You can leave the copy alone, including marked as read, archived, or deleted.

  • Then, hit the Save changes option.

  • Finally, log out from the previous Gmail address.

  • Choose to add a mail account option.

  • Fill in your previous Gmail account and tap Next.

  • Now you have to choose Import emails from my other account (POP3) and tap Next.

  • Verify your username and password for the older Gmail account.

  • Choose pop.gmail.com from the “POP Server.”

  • Keep the port at 995.

  • Remove the checkmark from Leave a copy of retrieved messages on the server.

  • Check the option called Always use a secure connection (SSL) when retrieving mail.

  • Hit, Add account.

  • Confirm your preference when you see a message like Would you also like to be able to send mail as———@gmail.com? Our recommendation is to give yourself the option to perform it if you have to reply to previous emails through the previous account.
