Everything You Need to Know About the Best Feature of Windows 11

Microsoft wanted to know which features were the most popular among users. Fans have determined that rounded corners reign supreme over everything else, according to the results of a new bracket poll on Windows Developer Twitter. Windows users prefer rounded corners above other features such as the new startup sound, icons, and backgrounds. The new Snap Groups feature, which helps enhance multitasking in Windows 11, was almost overcome by rounded corners.

New and the Best Windows 11 Features

Rounded corners are a defining feature of Windows 11, even if some consider it a minor modification. The notification center, as well as the Start Menu, have rounded corners. Wherever you click, you’ll find them. It’s a notable shift from Windows 10, which has squared-off edges throughout the operating system. In recent Windows Insider releases, Microsoft made some minor tweaks to allow rounded corners to appear in additional places.

Windows 11 boasts plenty of new features, and even Microsoft has promised that this update will be 40 percent smaller and the most secure update till now. The taskbar has been renamed the dock, and it is now compatible with both touch and mouse input devices. Snap Layouts, a feature that allows you to arrange multiple windows across the screen in columns, sections, and other ways, adds new multitasking functionality. There’s a new health check app in Settings that recommends things like turning down the brightness, changing the battery’s power-saving mode, and more.

Snap Controls, which came in second, is another distinctive feature of Windows 11. It allows you to tile your windows in various ways for multitasking, allowing you to get more work done while staying in your flow. Snap Controls can establish Snap Groups in the Taskbar, allowing you to quickly return to your apps after minimizing windows. Windows 11 has also improved multi-monitor functionality, so when you connect an external monitor, the windows on that display keep their prior positions.

The beta version of Windows 11 is still being tested by Windows Insiders, and Microsoft plans to deploy the new operating system in the holiday season of 2021. It has a new Microsoft Store and a Microsoft Teams connection, in addition to softened corners and Snap Controls. The Android app will also be coming to Windows 11 via the Amazon App Store soon. It is not yet accessible for testing.

Widgets were a flop on Windows Vista, but Microsoft claims it’s solved the code and is bringing them back to Windows 11. A new widget panel in the operating system includes options for a to-do list, weather, calendar, and more.

Windows 11’s animations have also been updated to appear smoother and more natural. When you click on the Start menu or minimize and close windows, this is most noticeable. The animations offer a fluid look and feel that is similar to that of a mobile operating system.

Final words

If you wish to try out these features, there are a few steps you may take. Simply enroll your computer in the Windows Insider Program and choose between the “Beta” and “Dev” branches. The Beta branch is more stable, whereas the Dev branch will receive new features faster. The beta version is still in the testing phase with Windows Insiders, and Microsoft expects to deploy the new operating system in the holiday season of 2021. It comes with a new Microsoft Store and Microsoft Teams integration, in addition to rounded corners and Snap Controls.PublishedAugust 18, 2021
