Jared Leto, the star of films such as “Mr. Nobody” and “Suicide Squad,” has revealed that his earnestly won Academy Award is not only not with him, but it has gone missing for at least three years.
Jared Leto’s Academy Award is yet another addition to the list of honors “Missing In Action.” The actor had appeared on Tuesday on James Corden’s show (The Late Late Show With James Corden) and revealed that his award has been missing for three years. The star of the latest film “The Little Things,” who is now touching 50, has revealed on the show hosted by James Corden that the coveted award he had won for his spellbinding performance in the 2014 film “Dallas Buyers Club,” is not with him for years.
He revealed in the interview that he later found that the award has gone missing for at least three years. He told Corden that he had no knowledge of that. He further revealed that he thinks no one really wanted him to inform him regarding that. He also added that he did move his residence in Los Angeles, and during that time, the award somehow just went missing. He also added that everyone did search for the award, but they were never able to find it.
Jared Leto theorized that there is a good chance that someone has stolen his award.
Leto now prays that the award must stay in the good hands irrespective of wherever it is. However, he is pretty confident that the award isn’t in his house, and he also believes it is not something people would prefer to dump in the trash can. He revealed that he anticipates that someone is taking care of it somewhere.
Jared Leto’s fans know for a fact that the night he won the most coveted award, he preferred to share it with his well-wishers. Now, when the awards have been stolen, he can only pray that whoever has it must feel the joy of having it.
He also shared that during the night he won the award, he let people play with it. They took pictures with it and then passed it around. He couldn’t see his award half the time during that night. However, he did reveal that he does not regret the fact that he shared his happiness with other people, and now when the award has been stolen, he anticipates that whoever has it must take care of it and should feel the joy of having it.
Though Jared Leto is not the only one in the history of the Academy to lose his prize, the Academy hasn’t made any provisions for replacement.
Another example is Hattie McDaniel, who won a similar award in the female category, which ultimately disappeared in the 1960s.
Academy clearly stated to Variety that though the Academy does not have any provisions to provide the statuette of the coveted award, it will go the legal route should anyone wish to sell the award online.
Jared Leto has recently played an antagonist character in the Denzel Washington and Rami Malek starrer “The Little Things.”
