Different Methods of Changing Themes in Windows 11 Without Activating Windows

Now, after the latest Windows OS has leaked, people are installing the new version to check out the new feature that is coming with Windows 11. However, while checking out the new themes we have found that the new Windows 11 OS will not activate with your old Windows 10 key. And without activating Windows 11, the themes, taskbar, customization, and settings will all be disabled by default.

But we are here to give you a solution to bypass this setting and enjoy your Windows 11 features easily. So, here are several different methods by which you can use wallpapers, themes and can even change the position of the Start Menu.

How can you activate Dark Mode in Windows 11?

Now you can activate Dark Mode on Windows 11. For this, you just have to edit the registry keys using the Registry editor. You must be thinking about how to do that so, just follow these steps:

  • Firstly, open the registry. To do that press Win+R, then type Regedit on the space beside the Open option, and then hit OK.

  • Once you are inside the Registry Editor, just copy and paste the folder path and then press enter.

  • Now go to the Personalize folder, where you need to change the below two keys. Set the values to 0. If you want to switch back to the light mode you can easily do that by changing both keys back to 1. You can enter 0 or 1 by doing a double click on the file and a Value field will open where you enter 0 or 1. AppUseLightTheme SystemUseLightTheme

  • When you change the keys, then your Windows apps and the system will become dark. You don’t have to reboot your computer or laptop.

How can you try the new Windows 11 Wallpaper?

So, just like the dark modes or themes, you can’t change the wallpaper without activating the OS. But if you want to do it manually then you can change the wallpaper easily whenever you want.

  • Firstly, copy and paste the path we have provided below in your Windows 11 file explorer. Once you press enter, you will find default wallpapers at the location which you have just entered. Location: C:\Windows\Web

  • At this location, you will find different wallpapers inside of a subfolder. Now the process is simple and same as the process of setting wallpaper in Windows 10 or 8.1.

  • This is how you can easily use the wallpaper on Windows 11 without needing the activating key.

Move the Start Menu to Left Like in Windows 10

Now with the new interface on Windows 11, the start menu and the taskbar icons have moved to the center. So, if you think you are more adjusted to the old one and want the start menu at its original position. You can easily do that without any problem and get it back to its original position. Again, you have to go back to the registry editor to get the start menu back to its original position.

  • Again, press Win+R and then type Regedit. Next, press Go.

  • Then in the Registry Editor, copy and paste the command given here and then press enter: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced

  • Now go to the advance folder and then right-click anywhere you want in the window-panel and select New > DWORD (32-bit) value to create a new key.

  • Now just rename the new key as Start_ShowClassicMode.

  • Then Double click on the key and then change it to the value of 1.

  • Now restart your computer laptop, and the process is complete.
