3) Virtual Private Network: For McAfee Total Protection, VPN is unlimited and included in the main application. Kaspersky Security Cloud, however, offers limited coverage of 500 MB per day.


4) Password Manager: Both McAfee Total Protection and Kaspersky Security Cloud have password managers.


5) Parental Control: For McAfee antivirus, parental controls are only available with the family plan. macOS is excluded from the parental control feature.


On the other hand, Kaspersky Security Cloud also offers parental controls with the family plan but includes macOS operating system.


6) Identity Protection: For McAfee Total Protection, it is available everywhere, but not in the United Kingdom, whereas in Kaspersky Security Cloud, identity protection is available everywhere in the world.

7) Webcam Protection: McAfee Total Protection does not offer webcam protection, and neither does it offer microphone protection.


Kaspersky Security Cloud is well-equipped with webcam and microphone protection features.


8) Ransomware Protection: McAfee Total Protection protects the system from Ransomware via File Lock. On the other hand, Kaspersky Security Cloud also comprehensively protects the system against ransomware attacks; in fact, Kaspersky antivirus products are quite credible in ransomware protection.


9) Banking/Payment Protection: McAfee Total Protection does not give any high-tech features such as identity protection in banking and payment services, whereas Kaspersky Security Cloud does have an embedded feature of banking and payment protection.


10) Firewall: Both of the antiviruses are well-equipped with firewall services.


11) Performance Tools: McAfee Total Protection aids the user with performance optimization courtesy of some performance tools; however, Kaspersky Security Cloud does not benefit the users with the performance-based tools.


12) Encrypted Storage: McAfee Total Protection offers encryption-based storage for the users in both File Lock and PC. In the same instance, Kaspersky Security Cloud provides reliable encryption-based storage for sensitive files, but that is limited and is only available for PC.


13) Platforms: McAfee Total Protection is available for Windows, iOS, macOS, and Android. Kaspersky Security Cloud is also available on all devices.

Choosing between McAfee Total Protection and Kaspersky Security Cloud boils down to the budget and preference of the user. As you know, Kaspersky Security Cloud is free to use and solves almost the entire system security dilemma. McAfee Total Protection also comes at a low cost, but some of its features are more advanced than Kaspersky, and it offers more value for the money given.
