Note: If you are going to sign a document using a mouse, don’t expect it to be as perfect as in real life. So, we recommend using a trackpad that will get you closer to your real-life signature. But first, enable Draw with trackpad toggle just beside the pen.

  • A little dialog box will appear. Now you have to use one finger to add a signature. With the help of both of your fingers, you can change its position. Lastly, click on any key to exit the preview.

However, you must note that using the drawing tool will not deliver a professional outcome. If you want that, then you should use a built-in add-on to sign a document in Microsoft Word.

You can easily sign a document in Word using third-party add-ons. For instance, Adobe Sign, DocuSign, and Panda Sign. You can use DocuSign by following these steps:

  • Firstly, open that document in which you have to sign in Microsoft Word.

  • Now choose Insert > Get Add-ins.

  • Then an Add-in store will open in Word, and you have to search for DocuSign. When you find it, then just install the add-in in Microsoft Word.

  • Create a DocuSign account now by selecting the Add-in.

  • Now, whenever you want to sign a document, just select DocuSign from the menu bar.

  • Click on the Sign Document, and DocuSign will upload the signature directly to the cloud.

Note: Here, you can do all sorts of different things like add stamps, text, check box, and even details of your company in a document. Also, using a third-party app allows you to use signatures across all the different mini-apps like Google Docs, Microsoft team, Microsoft word, and even zoom.
