A Report: Veteran Director Steven Spielberg Will Never Work With Tom Cruise Again

A report has emerged on the internet that veteran Hollywood director “Steven Spielberg,” who is renowned for directing several hit films like Jurassic Park, Jaws, Schindler’s List, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Saving Private Ryan, and Catch Me If You Can has decided that he will not be able to work with the Mission: Impossible star Tom Cruise ever again.

We all know that Steven Spielberg is one of the most iconic and celebrated directors of all time. The name of Steven Spielberg is definitely mentioned when we speak about directors like Alfred Hitchcock, Martin Scorsese, Ridley Scott, etc.

Spielberg currently holds the pedigree of being the most financially successful director of all time. His films, which span more than four decades, have earned massive affluence at the global box office, which at least amounts to $10 billion. On the other hand, we do have to acknowledge the fact that Tom Cruise has impressed one and all over the years with his action blockbusters, which continue to impress to this day. Cruise has been around in Hollywood for over 35 years.

It is an understandable fact that any partnership between the director and actor would have resulted in a massive box office outcome.

And, history speaks for itself.

The 2002 science-fiction epic “Minority Report” has been regarded as one of the greatest science fiction films of all time. The other film, which dealt with a zombie apocalypse, “War of the Worlds” (released in 2005), was also a mega box office hit, and it is the most financially successful Tom Cruise starrer outside the Mission: Impossible franchise.

Being a part of two massive productions in the span of just three years (2002-2005), it seemed as if a nice professional relationship was brewing between the two. However, now as we know, the actor and the director have never collaborated since “War of the Worlds.”

Now, a very reliable entertainment journalist and snoop Daniel Richtman has confirmed that Steven Spielberg had lost all interest in working alongside Tom Cruise a long time back, and he has no intention of changing his mind despite Tom Cruise’s ardent efforts to initiate the conversation of another film.

Daniel Richtman has talked to “We Got This Covered” pertaining to the matter, and without going into too much detail, he has clearly indicated that the veteran director has no intention of working with Tom Cruise ever again.

It was revealed that Tom Cruise’s vigorous following of Scientology created a rift between him and the veteran director, and Spielberg had developed a massive disliking for the actor ever since. It also needs to be noted that Tom Cruise’s public persona all went downhill following an episode of Oprah where the actor crazily jumped on the couch. However, the actor has reclaimed his lost image since then and has delivered back-to-back successful films, most of which are obviously from the Mission: Impossible franchise.

Tom Cruise has managed to develop a healthy professional partnership with Christopher McQuarrie over the years, and the statistics speak for themselves. Among the 12 films that the actor has starred in recent times, at least nine of them featured Christopher McQuarrie in some capacity.
